Industrial links

We take seriously our aim to prepare students for roles within the games industry. We believe this cannot be done without talking to representatives of the industy. We have had a lot of contact with representatives of several companies, but are actively seeking more all the time. We often have representatives of the industry come and talk to our students.

If you are working within the industry, or related industries, and want to talk to us, for any reason, please contact Dan Hodgson on dan.hodgson@unn.ac.uk.

Our strongest link has always been with Eutechnyx, a local games development company, who helped us immeasurably in defining programme content.

We have also had contact with SN Systems who make development tools for the games industry, Ubisoft Reflections and Mere Mortals (local development companies), The Mustard Corporation (who write stories for games), and a lot of contact with a programmer at Lionhead. We have strong links with GameHorizon, a local organisation which facilitates games industry links.

Dan Hodgson has also written several articles for Develop Magazine and is an active member of the International Game Developer's Association IGDA.
