Dr. M. Akhtar Ali

 I am a Senior Lecturer in the School of Computing, Engineering and Information Sciences, University of Northumbria, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. I joined Northumbria University in Aug. 2000, prior to which I was a member of Information Management Group (from Sep. 1997 to Aug. 2000) in the Computer Science Department, the University of Manchester. I obtained a PhD from Manchester University in 2003.

 

I obtained a BSc in Computer Science and Mathematics, and MSc in Computer Science from Peshawar University, Peshawar, Pakistan in 1993 and 1995, respectively. Soon after MSc, I joined the Army Welfare Trust, Rawalpindi, Pakistan, as a systems analyst in March 1996 and worked on the development of several business information systems. I then worked as a teaching assistant in the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering and Technology, Topi, Pakistan, from Sep. 1996 to Aug. 1997.
