1985 to 1988, Research Associate (B) and then Lecturer (Principal Investigator) at the Department of Business Analysis, Newcastle upon Tyne Polytechnic on a three year SERC/ACME (Science and Engineering Research Council Application of Computers in Manufacturing Engineering now EPSRC) sponsored research project.  The project (value £103K) was a collaboration between the Department of Business Analysis and Fasson Adhesive Products Ltd based in Cramlington, Northumberland.  Final report successfully received by ACME in February 1989 (Grant No GR/D 40739).
