Vince Smith (co-founder)

Draeger Safety UK Operations Manager. Head of a highly successful department within a multi million pound organisation. Vince is the driving force within the department. Forward thinking and always looking to the future. He encourages all his staff to partake in innovation thinking. Several organisational leading initiatives have been introduced under his leadership. These include cost reduction projects. An in house training centre originally for operations but now covering the entire organisation.

 


Jim Brown (co-founder)

An Industrial engineer within Draeger Safety Operations. Specialising in information and knowledge management Jim has been involved in numerous projects. Including development of automated test equipment, an information system to store staff training data and several systems to store component information. Jim who is currently working with Petia Sice is interested in organisational improvement through systems thinking and language.

Jim Brown, MBA, is an industrial engineer at Draeger Safety UK. He has thirty years experience in  the  manufacturing sector. Jim is currently conducting PhD research in  application of systems theory to social interactions within the workplace and their effects on quality  of performance and quality of working life

 

 

Dr Petia Sice (co-founder)

Petia Sice, PhD, is a Senior Lecturer at Northumbria University.   Her research interests lie in knowing of social systems from the perspectives of first and second order cybernetics, autopoiesis, non-linear dynamics and chaos theory, and the philosophy of language. Currently Petia Sice and Jim Brown are facilitating a small research group working on applications of  systems theory  to organisational learning in collaboration with Draeger Safety UK

 

 

Dr Patrick Jemmer

Patrick Jemmer, PhD, is a Senior Lecturer in Mathematics at Northumbria University, Member of the Institute of Mathematics and the Institute of Physics. His research interests include: non-linear dynamics and chaos theory, quantum mechanics, and theory of language.

 

 

Janette Young

Senior Lecturer at Northumbria University, and former employer of Draeger Manufacturing many years ago.  Research interests in knowing, knowledge creation, knowledge management and virtual learning.  A qualitative researcher.  External examiner for knowledge management, and reviewer within this subject area. Janette is also Program Leader for the new MSc in e-Knowledge Management.

 

 

Mu Niu

Mu Niu, MSc ,PhD student in Northumbria University. The PhD project for him is Developing learning microworlds in Management decision making using system dynamics. The proposal research is about the Hub simulation and modeling in Draeger Blyth.
