Prof Erik Mosekilde          Danish Technical University

Erik Mosekilde, is a Professor in Non-linear Dynamics and Head of the Department of Physics at the Technical University of Denmark. He is currently a Chairman of MIDIT (Centre for Modelling and Non-linear Dynamics) and a member of the steering committee for CATS (Centre for Chaos and Turbulence Studies). Erik Mosekilde has been awarded numerous prizes for his work on chaotic phenomena and new types of instabilities in physical, technical, economic, and biological systems. He has published over 190 scientific papers and presented more than 200 invited talks and external seminars. His recent books include:   "Topics in Non-linear Dynamics" (1998) and  “Chaotic Synchronization” (2002).

Currently Erik Mosekilde is a Visiting Professor at Northumbria University

 

 

Keith Sawyer                     Open  University

Keith Sawyer advises international and smaller organisations in strategy and knowledge management. Keith is the pioneer of StratAchieve, a proven software method for formulating and achieving strategy for large and small companies.  He is a director of the UK Systems Society and Alpha Omega, a consultancy company, and part-time lecturer at Cranfield University and Bristol University.  In November 2004, he won the best paper award at the International Knowledge Conference in Melbourne.

 

 

Prof David Weir                European Business School

David Weir is Professor of Management at CERAM Sophia Antipolis, France, and was Professor of Organisational Behaviour at Glasgow University and Director of the Bradford School of Management. He has been involved in business as a Director of Gulliver Foods, was Chairman of Forever-Broadcasting Yorkshire from 2000–2001 and is active as a business consultant in Europe and the Middle East.

 

 

Prof Leonard Minkes        University of Birmingham

Leonard Minkes is Emeritus Professor of Business Organisation, University of Birmingham; formerly Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Social Science; life member of the Court of the University.  His other appointments include university and research institutions in the UK, the U. N. Economic Commission of Europe, etc. In the period of 1975-81 he was a Senior adviser on management education and development to the Hong Kong Government Service.  Currently Leonard Minkes is actively engaged in management  research and advisory work

 

 

Nigel Laurie                      

Nigel Laurie is Editor and Publisher of Philosophy of Management (formerly Reason in Practice), a management consultant, Co-editor of Practical Philosophy and former Chair and founder member of the Society for Philosophy in Practice.  He trained as a philosopher at the Universities of Glasgow and Guelph and his earlier career included university lecturing, publishing management and seven years in systems and management posts with IBM.

His consultancy clients have included major organisations in the public and private sectors and he has conducted assignments throughout Europe, in the United States, the Middle East and Asia.  His experience includes management and leadership development, coaching, team building and facilitation.  In recent years he has pioneered approaches using philosophical techniques and concepts to make dialogue effective in support of organisational learning and change.  He has published in this field, has been a frequent conference speaker and is working on a book.  He is a member of several philosophical and other associations and is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultancy.

He was invited in 2003 to Japan to lecture on philosophy of management and facilitate a Socratic Dialogue in the Graduate Faculty of Letters at Osaka University. In 2004 he was appointed one of two trainers on a pan-European programme on the Socratic approach to teaching sponsored by the Society for the Furtherance of Critical Philosophy.

His 'Wanted: Philosophy of Management' appeared in the launch issue of Philosophy of Management and he interviewed the philosopher Martha Nussbaum in Volume 3 Number 1.

 

 

Bernard Mcguirk               Scottish Courage Newcastle

Bernard Mcguirk is a Sales operation Manager at Scottish Courage Ltd, and an MSc graduate of Northumbria University. He is currently involved with 2M as an associate researcher in the areas of Organisational Learning and Customer Knowledge Management with an particular focus on Customer Business Review.

 

 

Tan Hong Guat

Tan Hong Guat completed the MSc BIT course at Northumbria University in 2004, with distinction.  She is currently involved with 2M as an associate researcher in the area of Customer Knowledge Management.

 

 

Chen Yu

Yu Chen completed the MSc in Business Information Technology at Northumbria University in 2005, with high achievement. He is currently involved with 2M as an associate researcher in the area of Information Systems Development and Implementation. His interests involve innovative IS development and Critical Success Factors in IS implementation.
